Penalty Notice
Opium Vehicle Immonilisation will issue a plastic weatherproof penalty notice, designed and worded for maximum effect in deterring unauthorised parking, clearly informing motorists of the consequences of unauthorised parking. The signs clearly state our company name so offenders can see the parking control is our responsibility and not yours.
Once you have clearly displayed the warning signs (it is important that there are sufficient signs clearly displayed) you will find an immediate reduction in unauthorised parking at your site. For the few motorists who choose to ignore the warning signs, you simply issue them with a Fixed Penalty Charge, sending us the top copy so we may enforce non-payment where needed, should you need permits (see samples) to issue to authorised vehicles we can supply these so to make the identification of illegal vehicles easier for you or your representative.
The offending vehicle has 28 days to pay the Fixed Penalty Charge of £85.00, which is reduced to £60.00 if payment is made within 14 days of issue.
In the event that a vehicle does not make payment within 28 days the charge will increase to £135.00 and our legal department and Debt Recovery Agent shall undertake, at no expense to you, the collection of the parking charge, whereby we shall obtain the registered keeper's details from the DVLA.
This system is an effective intelligent way to solve your parking problems.
Payment Information
You are required to pay a parking charge of £85.00. This is automatically reduced to £60.00 provided we receive payment within 14 days from the date of issue. To pay by *Credit /Debit simply click on the link below or call our Processing Centre on: 0845 460 8558.
We do not recommend paying by cash, but should you wish to do so please ensure it is sent by registered mail. Cheques and Postal Orders should be crossed and payable to 'Opium Vehicle Immobilisation Limited'.
Please note: If you decide to pay by post, send the payment slip with your Payment. Your payment may be refused if the Vehicle Registration Number or Customer Number is not supplied when payment is made.

Warning Signs
The law requires that large, clear warning signs be displayed both at the entrance and throughout the parking area, informing motorists of the restrictions in place. There must be sufficient warning signs clearly displayed so that they are easily visible from where a vehicle may park and subsequently be issued with a Fixed Penalty Charge and, should a vehicle park in such an area, they are entering into a contract agreeing to the terms of parking as displayed on the warning signs.
By parking the driver automatically enters into a Contract with you for you to issue a Fixed Penalty Charge.
You must ensure that you display sufficient Warning Signs at the entrance of the parking area and throughout so that the motorist can clearly see them from wherever they park their vehicle.
Our legal department will undertake, at no expense to you, the collection of the parking charge. Where we obtain the vehicle licensing details from the DVLA we will not disclose data to you.
Resident & Visitor Parking Permits
Should you need use of permits to issue to authorised vehicles, which are frequently on your land, we can supply them Free of charge so as to make the identification of unauthorised vehicles easier for wardens and representatives.
Once you have signed the licence agreement for the Warden Patrol Service we will issue you (or your representative) with a Permit Tracking Form and the total amount of Permits that you require for your parking facilities. The Permit Tracking Form allows us to provide a fast efficient way of dealing with any problem that may arise with a vehicle that is displaying a permit. The Permit Tracking Form is an integral part of the Safe & Secure Checks that are carried out by our Warden Patrols and enable us to contact the vehicle owner directly, thus speeding up the response time and saving the land owner being disrupted from his/her normal activities.
All you have to do is issue your permits and fill in a few details on the Permit Tracking Form. Send us a copy of the Tracking Form and we’ll do the rest.
We are totally flexible on the type of permit system you want to run on YOUR land. We issue parking permits to you for FREE, and if you decide to lease you’re parking facilities to other motorists for a fee that’s fine by us. If you want 2, 3, or more permits for one bay (in cases were employees or family/friends share parking facilities) then that’s also fine by us. We’re here to help improve your parking facilities and give you the best service we can for FREE.
